Today's thread
One made-up saree boutique in Chikkadpally, four steps. The speaker does each step for the boutique. You do each step for your own business, or your family's.
AaPlain words
Each word is explained once here, then used all day.
- Specialisation, elective
- Your specialisation is Finance, Marketing or HR. Electives are the subjects inside it, such as Advertisement & Retail.
- Sem IV core
- A subject everyone takes in the fourth semester, such as Business Intelligence.
- Something a stranger can open
- What the working world calls proof of work. A link or a screenshot. Anyone can look at it.
- The customer seat
- A first job where you deal with the person who pays.
- The process seat
- A first job where you keep the work moving: operations, support, back office. Both seats are real jobs.
- Relationship officer
- The bank's person for a set of customers: opening current and savings accounts and selling other products, against a monthly target.
- NBFC
- A company that lends but is not a bank, such as Bajaj Finance.
- Inside sales
- Selling by phone and chat from an office desk.
- Key accounts
- A company's biggest customers.
- The hook
- The first line people see. On WhatsApp, the line in the notification.
- The number
- A count the owner watches after sending: how many replied, enquired, bought. For a recruiter: applied, screened, interviewed, joined.
- A test
- Two versions to two random halves of the same list, one change between them, then count.
- A landing page
- One page, one offer, one button. After this, just "the page".
- A reason to say no
- What sales courses call an objection.
- The preview
- The box beside or below the chat where the page you asked for appears and can be tapped.
- The one-page note
- A short note that tells a stranger what you made or did, for whom, the numbers, and what you would change.
- One send
- One message to the AI per exercise.
- A listed company
- One whose shares trade on the stock exchange. Its annual report is free on its website, under "Investors".
1Your talent, from evidence
On paper first, 1 minute. Write three true lines in your notebook. Real facts only. Fake facts give a fake talent.
The last thing a friend or family member asked me to help with.
What I did last Sunday when nobody told me to.
A task that felt easy for me and hard for others. Second years: make this one thing from your internship or project, with a number.
I am an MBA student, [year, specialisation or "not chosen yet"]. Three true facts about me: ___. Using only these facts, name my strongest talent in two words, quote the evidence, and write one sentence for "tell me about yourself". No praise. If the evidence is weak, say so.
- First years write "first year, not chosen yet" in the bracket.
- Your facts can be typed in Telugu, Hindi or Urdu. The AI reads them.
- Keep the sentence. Exercise 3 marks it.
Got "weak evidence"? That is an honest answer, not a failure. Send this one more line:
Give me one task this week that would create evidence.
MThe boutique's message, torn apart
The made-up boutique's WhatsApp message, written badly on purpose: "New festive stock arrived! Visit us at Chikkadpally. Open 10 to 9." At home, try it with a message from your own or your family's business.
Here is a message a small business sends its customers on WhatsApp: [paste the message]. What job is this message doing, who is it for, and what number should the owner watch?
Write three versions with a stronger first line for [who the customers are]. How would the owner test which one wins?
Three lessons
- AI drafts. You check. The number judges.
- Say "guess". AI has not seen the owner's phone. When it names the number, it is guessing.
- An invented discount costs the owner money. If AI writes "Flat 50% off" and nobody offered it, remove it.
The test, done honestly
- Only message customers who agreed to hear from you. A broadcast only reaches people who saved your number, and saving a number is not agreeing to offers.
- One change (the first line). Give each version its own reply word: "Reply 1 for photos" and "Reply 2 for photos". Send each to a random half of the list.
- Count replies per 100 delivered. The broadcast info shows how many got it.
- Run it twice. On a small list, 3 replies against 9 could still be luck.
Taking Advertisement & Retail or Marketing Engineering this semester? This is where both start: a first line, one change, one count.
2Your weeks and months
Two prompts. Pick the one for your year. Put your talent from Exercise 1 in the blank.
I am an MBA first-year student in Hyderabad, [specialisation I lean to, or "not chosen yet"], 21 months from graduating. My talent: "___". Make my plan: one goal per semester, one thing per semester a recruiter could open, and a Week 1 action under 2 hours with a day on it. Table, under 150 words.
I am an MBA second-year student in Hyderabad, [specialisation]. Placement season is close. My talent: "___". Plan my next four weeks: one small thing each week that a recruiter could open, and a Week 1 action under 2 hours with a day on it. Table, under 120 words.
What "the thing" might be
- Finance: three numbers from a bank's annual report, read and marked (Lane 4).
- HR: a job post and three screening questions for a small firm.
- Marketing: a page and a two-message test for a real shop.
SAI plays the customer
Good salespeople do not pitch. They ask, then answer. Put your own real customer in the first blank. Two sends: the prompt, then your one reply. Screenshot the score.
You are [my real customer: who they are, where]. I am selling you [my product], [price]. Say no three times like a real customer: the price, "I already have one", and "I don't trust you yet". Score each reply 1–10 in one line. Mark strictly. Do not help me. Start with your first no.
"You are a working woman in Himayatnagar who got a WhatsApp message from a saree boutique in Chikkadpally. I am selling you a Pochampally cotton saree, ₹2,400."
A pitch ("Pure handloom, and 10% off") scored about 4. A question ("For an occasion, or for office? I'll send three daylight photos") scored about 8. Stuck? Use this example.
You own a Hyderabad shop and bank elsewhere. I am a bank relationship officer offering [a current account or business loan]. Say no three times: charges, "I already have a bank", trust. Never quote a rate, charge or return; if I do, ask where it is published. Score each reply 1–10 in one line. Mark strictly. Do not help me.
A model answer to "charges": "The bank publishes its schedule of charges. Shall I open it with you now?"
You are a B.Com graduate in Hyderabad with two job offers. I am a recruiter offering you a third: [role, and the pay the company approved]. Say no three times like a real candidate: the pay, "I have a better offer", and the commute. Score each reply 1–10 in one line. Mark strictly. Do not help me.
Stuck? A made-up offer: customer support executive, ₹2.4 L a year.
The score is AI's guess too. A real customer is the real marker.
3Get marked, not answered
Most people ask AI to answer. The best ask it to mark. Pick one employer in the bracket and delete the rest. The blank is your sentence from Exercise 1. One send.
You hire MBA freshers in Hyderabad for [a bank's sales and service team, a digital marketing agency, a recruitment firm or an analytics team]. Here is my answer to "tell me about yourself": ___. Score it 1–10. Mark strictly. Name the one biggest weakness and one fix. Do not rewrite it for me.
Read the score. Then rewrite the sentence yourself, on paper. Two minutes. That is why the prompt says "do not rewrite it for me".
Second years: run this once a week until placements, as the company you apply to next.
BA page a stranger can open
The speaker builds the boutique's page first: cotton ₹850, Pochampally cotton ₹2,400, silk-cotton ₹4,800. Then your pair builds one for a real business: a family shop, a tuition centre, a mobile repair shop, a friend's Instagram store. No business in mind? Use a made-up home baker in Himayatnagar.
Build a one-page website that looks good on a phone for [the business] in Hyderabad. Items and prices: [three items, my prices]. Add one line on timings, and a big "Enquire on WhatsApp" button that opens WhatsApp with this message typed: "I saw your page". No phone number in the link. Invent nothing.
You supply the items and the prices. Why no number today: with no number, the button opens WhatsApp with the message typed and asks whom to send it to. That is enough to test. Never put a personal number on a public page.
The taps
Gemini: tap Tools, then Canvas. Paste. Send.
Claude: paste. Send. Tap the page when it appears.
When the preview appears, tap Share or Publish, copy the link, and send it to your partner any way you both already use. Or just swap phones.
The hunt
Your partner opens the page and hunts. There is no list.
Is anything on the page something you did not give it?
Fix it
On my page, [what is wrong]. Fix only that. Tell me in one line what you changed. Then list two more things I should test before sharing it with the owner.
Show the owner the page. Ask: "Would you share this?"
Add the business number only, and the button goes straight to the shop. In the link, write 91, then the ten digits. No plus sign. No spaces.
If the shop is yours and the number is personal, leave it out.
If the owner shares it: count the messages that say "I saw your page" until Monday. That count goes in your Doc.
Hunted today and have no page? Run the build yourself tonight.
4Start your proof
The boutique's number: next week the owner sends the winning message with the page link, then counts the WhatsApp messages that arrive saying "I saw your page", and then, in the bill book, how many bought. For a recruiter the number is applied, screened, interviewed, joined. For an analyst, it is the number you checked.
Four lanes. Pick one. One send, one screenshot.
For first years, and anyone without a page. First years write "first year, not chosen yet" in the first bracket.
I am an MBA student, [year, specialisation]. Help me start a one-page study of how [brand] gets and keeps customers. Give me one problem to study from its app reviews or ads, three questions to answer, a title, and two questions a recruiter would ask. No numbers from you; tell me where to find them.
- Brands: Zepto, Meesho, Nykaa, Lenskart, PhonePe.
- Finance: Zerodha, Bajaj Finserv, a bank's app.
- Local: Paradise, Karachi Bakery, Ratnadeep.
- HR: a company that hires freshers in Hyderabad. Write "candidates" for "customers", and use its job posts and interview reviews.
Two free sources. You find the numbers. That is the study.
Meta Ad LibraryA free site that shows the ads a brand is running now on Facebook and Instagram. Google Play StoreSearch the brand's app, then open its reviews page.Today I built a one-page site for [the business] with a WhatsApp enquiry button. Write the one-page note a recruiter reads in 60 seconds: who it is for, what it does, what was wrong with it and how I fixed it, what I would add next. Under 120 words.
An internship, a project, fest sponsorship or registrations, a family shop, an Instagram store. A reel with 14,000 views and no count of enquiries is a start, not a result. Ran Instagram ads? The ad's results show cost per result, such as cost per message; write that, not likes. Ran fest registrations? Reached, registered, turned up: that is a recruiter's funnel.
Something I already did: [what, for whom, how long]. My numbers: [calls, sign-ups, replies, sales, money in, money out]. Write the one-page note a recruiter reads: what I did, the numbers, what worked, what I would change. Add no number I did not give you. Ask me two questions a [sales, marketing or HR] manager would ask.
For Finance, and anyone heading for Business Intelligence, your Sem IV core. AI names the three numbers the manager wants. You find them; AI marks your reading. In the hall: one send, screenshot the three numbers.
I am an MBA student, [specialisation]. I will read [a listed bank or company]'s latest annual report. You are the manager who wants numbers from it. Name the three numbers you would ask for first, where in the report each one is, and what each tells you. Do not give the values; I will find them.
By Sunday: find the three numbers in the report (free on the company's website, under Investors). Write one paragraph on what they tell you. Then send this in the same chat.
Here are the three numbers from the annual report: ___. My one-paragraph reading of them: ___. Score my reading 1–10. Mark strictly. Name the biggest gap. Add no number I did not give you.
By Sunday 4 Oct: your lane's one-page Google Doc, sharing set to anyone with the link. Lane 1: the start of the study (title, three questions, first answers).
5By next Monday, 5 Oct
6 PM: one link or screenshot to your placement cell, the way the placement office tells your class group. Every entry: name · roll number · year · specialisation · lane.
- First years: optional, and welcome.
- Second years: the same link is the first line of your next off-campus application.
Your next four weeks
- Week 1 (by Sun 4 Oct). Your one-page Doc.
- Week 2 (by Sun 11 Oct). One AI-customer round as the company you apply to next, with the score. First years: for your family's business.
- Week 3 (by Sun 18 Oct). One count. Marketing: two messages with two reply words, to people who agreed. HR: a sign-up you run, counted reached → registered → turned up. Finance: Lane 4 on a second company.
- Week 4, the Dussehra break (18–25 Oct). The full brand study, or a page for a second business.
₹The honest market
- Start: about ₹2.2–3.7 L a year. Recruiter, digital marketing, bank or NBFC sales officer, business development. First year.
- Incentives: listings don't show them. Ask in the interview.
- A few years in, listings show about ₹7–8 L for key account and area sales roles. Some reach it. Many do not.
- What moves you up is the habit: one small thing a week that a stranger can open.
Roughly, 2026, as listed. Source: AmbitionBox, checked 25 Sep 2026: Hyderabad pages for the roles; India-wide company pages for bank and NBFC sales officers. This is the market, not any one college, and not a promise.

KIMS Education is an initiative of Dr. B. Bhaskar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of KIMS Hospitals. It started this year. It does not compete with your MBA; it sits alongside it.
